The inscription is made on bedrock on the place of the Viking age farm, close to the foundation of a Viking age hall. This is the largets inscription in Uppland.

The ornaments are unusually intricate.
The names of those who commissioned the inscription are mentionened in two groups, why is unclear. Possibly Vargas and Ragnfrid had the same mother, but another father the the rest. Kalv and Gärdar and (?) are likely dead.
